When I first started landscape photography some of the first landscape images that inspired me were of the Scottish landscape, and it was one of the first photography trips I made.  Unfortunately, but perhaps predictably given Scotland's famously changeable weather, during my all too brief time there I mostly got cloudy overcast weather, which when you've woken up at 4 in the morning and hiked up the side of a hill in the cold and the dark can be quite demotivating.  However in weather conditions that wouldn't work in many places, in Scotland it's still possible to get atmospheric images.
